will soon compete in 28 sporting disciplines at the XXIX. Summer Olympic
Games in China. DB Schenker will ensure that sporting excellence is possible
by providing professional services behind the scenes.
DB Schenker is the "Exclusive Supplier for Freight Forwarding and Customs
Clearance" for the Olympics in Beijing and in six other Chinese cities.
A mixed team of experts with decades of experience from DB Schenker in China
and DB SCHENKERglobalsportsevents will contribute to ensuring that athletes,
spectators, organisers, sponsors and media representatives will enjoy
optimal conditions at the Olympic Games.
This encompasses an extensive range of freight forwarding services: from the
planning of air and sea freight capacity across customs clearance and
services at the Olympic Camp through to delivery in high security areas of
the Olympic facilities - all tailored to fit the sporting mega-event.
Alongside television companies and news agencies, a large proportion of the
National Olympic Committee as well as sponsors and partners are among the
customers of DB Schenker.
DB Schenker is responsible for the transportation of all the boats for the
sailing competitions in Qingdao. Most of the sports equipment had already
left the countries of origin for China by the end of April in containers.
DB Schenker Austria and its national subsidiaries from the corresponding
region of Southeast Europe have been in close contact with the National
Olympic Committee as well as television companies and sponsors from each
respective country for several months in order to coordinate timely
delivery.
The range of shipments transported from the region for the National Olympic
Committee spans sport equipment and clothing, food of all kinds (national
specialties), furnishing for the accommodation for the national teams as
well as promotional material and gifts.
DB Schenker will be transporting a total of some 60 single consignments from
the Southeast European region with a total volume of more than 100 tonnes to
China. This includes 12 40 foot containers with sailing boats and sailing
equipment.
Schenker Serbia provided transport service and delivery to IBC for Serbian
Broadcasting Agency-RTS as well to Montenegro Broadcasting Agency.
